Political Limits on Reality
NV Energy is making voter in America aware of another hidden tax each person pays in America for solar power. We have this with phone companies too and in other areas. How much are we being taxed with these hidden taxes.
Solar Energy Fairness website say’s
“The cost of subsidizing rooftop solar in Nevada is unfair and expensive. Every year, electric customers in southern Nevada with rooftop solar receive $623 in subsidies, and $471 for northern Nevada customers. This amounts to an average of $10-12 MILLION more in electricity bills for everyone else.
And who pays for it?
If you don’t have rooftop solar, you are paying for it. 97% of Nevada families are subsidizing big roof top solar even though they don’t have solar panels on their homes. That includes low income families, seniors, and families who just can’t afford rooftop solar panels on their homes.
Even with the new rules, that subsidy is more than $100 million over 12 years. If the subsidy structure that the big rooftop solar companies want continues, the subsidy would grow to $320 million over twenty years and could grow to over $2.6 billion. All the while, working families and people on fixed incomes will be forced to pay for it.
It isn’t fair that rooftop solar companies are trying to make you subsidize people with rooftop solar systems by increasing your electricity bills. You shouldn’t have to pay for something you do not have.”
As we know, taxes never go away. The progressives continually add to them. And these are totally hidden from the voters, usually passed buy some government entity outside congress or local legislators. They typically start small and are forced on some utility company to collect for them.
Another article defending this hidden tax is an article in the Las Vegas Sun.
NV Energy: Let existing solar customers keep old rate for 20 years.
In a filing today with the Public Utilities Commission, NV Energy said it supports a plan allowing about 27,000 existing solar customers to pay the old rate for 20 years.
The cat is out of the bag! We the people have to decide how much do we subsidize solar power for our neighbors.
